Description
The Ring Temple is a Grade II* listed circular building made of stucco with a leaded dome. It is located about 2,000 meters to the west of the Audley End stables, on the edge of Ring Hill Camp. The temple was built to commemorate the Treaty of Paris, which ended the Seven Years' War in 1763. Inside, there is a central circular room featuring six double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, as well as moulded architraves and cornices. This room is surrounded by a colonnade of twelve Ionic columns with plain shafts resting on a circular stylobate. Below the dome, there is a frieze decorated with roundels, and the building includes a commemorative inscription. The structure has undergone restoration.
