Description

This is a range of former stable buildings, now converted into residential properties. They date to the 18th century and were originally part of Shortgrove Hall. The two-storey buildings have a parapet and cornice, with both the east and west facades featuring symmetrical window arrangements. The west front has a one-bay:four-bay:one-bay:four-bay:one-bay window arrangement. The upper windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars and segmental heads, while the ground floor windows on the west front are bar and transom casements. The end bays and the central bay project slightly, highlighted by rusticated brick quoins, and the central bay is topped by a pediment containing an elliptical archway at ground floor level. Doorways are located in the end bays, with pilasters and cornices above. A brick band runs across the facades between the floors. The roof is tiled with hipped ends, and a central clock tower rises above the structure, featuring an open cupola and a dome.
