Description
Holts Farmhouse is a house that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with a crosswing and alterations and extensions from the 17th century and later. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red plain tiled roof. The roof on the right side features a half hip and gablet, along with a gabled dormer. The farmhouse has two storeys and attics, with a window range of one to four, showcasing various small paned vertical sliding sashes, including three-light central windows. There are two 20th-century doors set within 18th-century surrounds, each with a narrow light beneath moulded flat canopies. A raised band is present at the first-floor level. The exterior features one red brick chimney stack on the right, one off-centre to the left, and another on the ridge of the crosswing. This site is one of the Manor sites of Stebbing and is located on a moated site.
