Description

The outbuilding located to the east of Number 40 on The Street in Manuden is a remaining ground storey of a former maltings, likely dating from the 17th to 18th century. Originally, the building was three storeys high with a timber-framed upper section, but only the colourwashed brick ground storey remains today. The front gable facing the road features exposed timber-framing with plaster infill, and the roof is tiled. Currently, the structure is used as a garage with doors that open onto the road. This outbuilding is included for its group value with the surrounding structures.
