Description

Bacons Farmhouse is a house that dates from the mid 16th century or earlier, with later additions and alterations. It is timber framed and plastered, featuring a jettied crosswing on the right. The roof is covered with red plain tiles, half-hipped on the left and hipped with a gablet on the crosswing. The building has two storeys and a window arrangement of two small paned casements on one side and one on the other. There is a 20th-century enclosed gabled porch with a board door, and two red brick chimney stacks. To the left, there is a small red tiled lean-to. A building was recorded on the site as Walter Bacon's in 1323.
