Description

Badcocks Farmhouse is a 17th-century crosswing, recently restored, with 20th-century additions to the left and rear. The house is timber framed and plastered, featuring 20th-century pargetting. It has two windows to the first floor, two to the ground floor, and one to the attic, all with 20th-century leaded casements. A 20th-century board door is set within a hipped, enclosed red-tiled porch. The roof has side purlins and jowled storey posts. An original chimney stack remains. A cambered tie beam and a finely moulded ceiling beam, salvaged from the collapsed hall, have been incorporated into the 20th-century construction. A red brick chimney stack is also present. A farm is recorded on the site as early as 1472.
