Description
St. Judes is a house with a core dating from the 17th century or earlier, featuring flint and red brick dressed cladding added around 1819, along with a matching 20th-century addition to the left that includes an archway and crosswing. The building has a red plain tiled roof that is half hipped at the crosswing and to the right. It stands two storeys high, with a first-floor window range of one to three and a ground-floor range of one to two, showcasing gothic windows in dressed round head openings. The entrance features a board door with a pointed arch head set in a matching dressed opening. The house has dressed quoins and a band, an original inglenook fireplace, and an incorporated bakehouse, along with an off-centre red brick chimney stack. Known as "The Black Horse," it operated as a public house from 1906.
