Description

Old Ryes is a cottage from the 17th or 18th century, featuring a matching 20th-century wing on the left. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red plain tiled gambrel roof that has two to three range cat slide dormers. It has one storey and attics, with a three-window range of small paned casements, a French window, and a boarded door leading to the 20th-century wing. To the right, there is a red tiled gabled porch with a 20th-century panelled door. The cottage has one central and one external red brick chimney stack on the right, and a small cote at the ridge on the left. Inside, the exposed timber framing is visible, and it features a side purlin roof.
