Description
Church Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage located on Church Road in White Roding. It is timber framed and plastered, with a weatherboard plinth. The cottage has one storey, featuring a central two-storey gabled crosswing that is supported at the front by four wooden posts on small stylobates. The roof is thatched and has a half-hipped design.
The cottage includes four Gothick-headed windows in rectangular frames, each fitted with two panelled shutters. There is one window on either side of the central door, which also has Gothick heads but lacks rectangular frames. The crosswing features a plain casement window with a plaster Gothick head and a half-circle pattern above it, along with small square lights on either side. Large Gothick-headed windows are present on the end walls, and there is a central rectangular chimney stack made of red brick.
