Description

The Old Rectory is a house that dates from the 16th century or earlier, with alterations from the 17th and 18th centuries, and a late 17th-century service block along with an early 19th-century addition. It is two stories tall, constructed with timber framing and plaster, featuring peg tile roofs and a hipped slate roof over the early 19th-century extension. The building has a complex plan and generally includes casement windows, some of which are made of old cast iron. The west elevation features a semi-circular headed fanlight door-case, accompanied by symmetrical sash windows. Inside, there is visible timber framing and a fireplace dating from around 1500. The property is situated on a moated site.
