Description
The Walnut Tree is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with later additions. It features a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a red plain tiled gambrel roof and two red brick chimney stacks. The building has three catslide dormers and is one storey high with attics. It is a long cottage composed of attached sections, with the rightmost part from the 17th century, followed by sections from the 18th and 19th centuries, and a single storey extension added in the 20th century on the forward left side. The cottage has a six-window range of two-light casements with glazing bars, along with two 20th-century windows and a door in the left extension. Inside, chamfered bridging joists, storey posts, and top plates are visible.
