Description

The Old Mill House is a house dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, constructed with gault brick facing and red brick returns. It features double range grey slate roofs and has red brick chimney stacks at both ends. The building has a parapet and a moulded band underneath. It is two storeys high and has a three-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes, which are topped with gauged stucco arches. The central entrance has a six-panelled door that is accessed by seven steps. The doorway is moulded with a rounded head and includes reveal panels. There are moulded bases and capitals on two half columns and two full columns that support a flat canopy featuring a moulded soffit and a frieze decorated with a lion head and Greek key mouldings. Above the door, there is a traceried light, and two tie plates can be found to the left.
