Description

The White Hart Inn is a public house and attached rear dwelling, dating from the 16th to 17th centuries for the rear portion, with a front range added in the 18th or 19th century. The front range is plastered and has a hipped roof covered in red concrete tiles. It has two storeys and a three-window front, featuring small-paned vertically sliding sash windows with 20th-century shutters. A central 20th-century porch shelters a panelled door. The two-storey rear range is timber-framed and weatherboarded, with a red brick chimney stack. It has three small-paned vertically sliding shutters to the first floor, two matching those on the ground floor, and two vertically boarded doors. The ground floor windows and doors are protected by pentice boards. Inside, heavy chamfered bridging floor joists and flat ceiling beams are visible.
