Description

Hillside is a house dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of plastered brick with ashlar lining, and has a hipped roof covered in grey slate. There are chimney stacks on the right and left sides. The house is two storeys high, with end pilasters. It has a symmetrical three-window front, featuring small-paned vertically sliding sash windows. A stepped approach leads to the central panelled front door, which has a top light. The door is topped by an impressive portico consisting of Ionic columns, a frieze decorated with roundels, and a flat canopy.
