Pond Hall

Pond Hall is a house dating from the 17th century or earlier, with later alterations and additions. It features a timber frame that is now covered with stucco. The roof is hipped and tiled in red, and there are three red brick chimney stacks visible from the road. The building has a hall house plan with crosswings at the rear and additional ranges. It stands two storeys high with attics and has end pilasters. A central raised parapet, which breaks through the eaves level, is flanked by three windows. The first floor has round-headed windows on the right and left, while the ground floor has four windows with a central door in between. All windows are small-paned vertically sliding sashes with moulded labels above. The entrance features a ten-panel door supported by half columns and full columns, which hold up a flat canopy with a patera on the frieze. Inside, there is said to be a rear staircase wing that contains a 17th-century staircase, as well as an 18th-century fireplace surrounded by 17th-century Dutch tiles in one of the upper rooms.
