Description

36 and 38 Brook Street are a pair of houses dating from the 18th century or earlier. They are constructed of red brick and feature a tall gambrelled roof covered with red plain tiles. The houses have ridge end red brick chimney stacks and are two storeys high. There is a single flat-headed dormer on the roof. The eaves cornice is dentilled, and the front has a three-window range of small-paned vertically sliding sash windows. These windows have moulded surrounds and segmental heads on the ground floor. There is a step approach to the doorways located to the right and left of the central window, which also have segmental heads and 20th-century doors.
