Description
This is a group of three cottages, originally a larger house with projecting wings, dating back to the 16th century and altered in later centuries. The houses are timber-framed and plastered, with the ground floor of the right-hand wing built of brick. The roofs are red-tiled, with an 18th-century gambrel (a type of roof with two slopes on each side) to the left-hand wing, and a gable roof to the right. Chimney stacks of red brick are visible on the left return side.
The cottages are two storeys high with attics, featuring a flat-headed dormer window in the central range and a moulded cornice above. They have a 1:2:1 window arrangement, with mainly small-paned vertically sliding sash windows. A 20th-century bow window has been added to the left-hand wing. The central range has a six-panel door on the left, a 20th-century porch on the right, and a vertically boarded door to the right-hand wing. A step approach leads to all of the doors. A Sun Insurance plaque is visible on the central range.
