Description

The Old Post Office is a house located on Canewdon High Street, dating from the 18th to 19th century. It features a timber frame with a red brick facade and weatherboarded returns, topped by a red plain tiled roof and flanked by end red brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and is characterized by a dentilled eaves cornice. It has a three-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes with gauged brick arches above them. The central entrance is a five-panelled door with reveal panels and a dentilled pediment. Inside, there is a straight flight staircase with twisted balusters.
