Description
This listing describes a group of two headstones located approximately 6 metres southeast of the southeast corner of the chancel at the Church of All Saints in Barling Magna. Both headstones date from the 18th century and are made of stone. The taller northern headstone features a scrolled head, a central fluted urn, a cherub head, and symbols including a scythe and a skull and crossbones. It commemorates George Vassell, Gent, who died in 1773. The southern headstone also has a scrolled head and displays a skull and crossbones, with an inscription for Asser Vassell, Gent, who died in 1723.
