Description

The Chequers is a public house dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, with later alterations and additions. The building is timber-framed and rendered with a hipped roof covered in red tiles. There are three red brick chimney stacks. A red-tiled lean-to extension is located at the rear left. An eaves band runs around the building. The two-storey facade has a three-window arrangement to the first floor, featuring vertically sliding sash windows with horns and glazing bars. A similar window is present on the ground floor to the left. A 20th-century red-tiled porch has been added to the right, extending over bays to the right and left of the 20th-century panelled door with a light above.
