Description

The building is a granary that was formerly an oast house, dating from the 19th century. It is located approximately 30 metres west of Rushes Farmhouse. The structure is made of red brick and features a tall pyramidal roof covered with red tiles. It has a tall square plan and includes a loft floor. There is a doorway on the west side, and traces of the original fittings from the oast floor can still be seen on the walls. An elderly villager recalls the building's history as an oast house, making it a rare survival in Essex.
