Description
Bluehouse Cottages are two cottages that date from the 17th century or earlier, with later alterations. They are constructed from timber framing and are weatherboarded, topped with a red plain tiled gambrel roof. The building features two red brick chimney stacks. On the left side, there is a lean-to addition, while on the right, there is a forward hipped single-storey range added in the 20th century. The cottages are two storeys high, with three windows on the first floor and a 1:5 window arrangement on the ground floor, which mainly consists of two or three light casements with glazing bars; the ground floor on the right has double windows. There is a 20th-century porch on the right, and a rear door is located on the left. Dormer windows can be seen on the rear. The cottages were acquired as a parish workhouse in the 18th century, and there is a moulded post inscribed with "MFLE 1691."
