Description

Hill Place is a house dating back to the 16th century or earlier, with alterations and additions made in the 17th century and later. It is timber-framed, with a plastered ground floor and an exposed timber frame on the first floor. There is a jetty on the left return. The roof is hipped and tiled, with a gablet and a central red brick chimney stack to the right. A wing extends to the rear. The house has two storeys. The first floor has a two-window range, while the ground floor has a four-window range, all featuring 20th-century casement windows with small panes. A 20th-century gabled porch with a plank and muntin door and strap hinges is located on the left return. The left side of the timber frame exhibits halved bracing and jowled storey posts, while the right side has through bracing.
