Description
The almshouses at Nos 13 and 15 Sheering Road were built in 1716. This long, single-storey building is constructed from Flemish bonded red brick and features a ridged and gabled peg-tile roof. There are three red brick chimneys: one in the center and one at each gable end. The front has two doors sheltered by later gabled porches, and there are seven pairs of double wooden casement windows, each with six panes. At the center of the front elevation, a blind dormer with a gable displays an inscription that includes the date and the name of the benefactor. The inscription reads: "Thefe houfef were builded for ye habitation of fower poore widdowes with monies left by ye will of Mr Francis Reeve formerly of Huberts Hall." Additionally, there is a three-course projecting eaves band.
