Description
Harlow Baptist Church is a mid-19th century building designed in the Romanesque style. It is constructed of stock brick with buff freestone dressings and features a hipped, slated roof. The front of the church has three bays, highlighted by a bold eaves band and a central tympanum that includes a pediment and stone finial. Rusticated pilasters are present at the ends, and there are balustrades on either side of the central tympanum above the eaves band. The church has a central square porch with rusticated returns and a round-arched doorway that features a vermiculated keystone. Above the porch is a round quatrefoil window set within the pediment. On either side of the porch, there are tall round-headed windows with mullions and roundels in their heads. Above the porch, there is another round-headed window with two lights, each having a mullion and a roundel above. A freestone sill band runs along the base of the windows. The side walls are adorned with seven tall matching windows and intervening pilasters. The church remains unaltered and is in good condition.
