Description

The Church of St Mary Magdalene, dated 1893, is constructed of coursed pebbles with freestone dressings and quoins. It features a nave, a lower chancel, and a west tower topped with a shingled, parapetted spire. The tower has an embattled parapet above a moulded stone string course, which includes a carved head at each corner and two on each face. The south door at the base of the tower is designed in the Perpendicular style. The nave has three perpendicular windows on the south side, each with cinquefoiled lights beneath quatrefoiled heads. The chancel contains two sets of cinquefoiled windows. Stone finial crosses adorn the east gables of both the nave and chancel, and the roofs are covered with red machine-made tiles.
