Description
The Marquis of Granby Public House is a 15th to 16th century building that stands two storeys tall. It features a timber frame with plaster and some weatherboarding. The front elevation facing Fore Street has a ridged, gabled roof covered with peg tiles and is topped with a modern red brick chimney stack. The building has a parapet and a range of five windows on the first storey, which alternate between three-part and plain styles. On the ground storey, there are two three-part windows followed by a small-paned glazed door set in a wide case, which is sheltered by a flat leaded hood supported by brackets. The rear elevation is weatherboarded and includes small-paned sliding sash windows. The building has a T-plan layout with a cross-wing at the east.
