Description
The Red Lion Public House is a public house dating from the mid-17th century, possibly incorporating parts of an earlier structure. It features a timber frame with plaster and a hipped roof covered in red plain tiles. The building has two storeys and an 'L' shaped plan, with a wing that projects to the north. The façade includes three windows, a mix of early 20th-century casements, and one 19th-century oriel bay window with vertical sliding sashes and glazing bars. There is a 20th-century gabled porch with a red plain tile roof. To the west, there is a 19th-century weatherboarded extension topped with a grey slate roof. Red brick chimney stacks are present, and the timber frame is exposed internally.
