Description
Debden House is an early 19th-century house that has been extended in the 19th and 20th centuries and is now used as an adult education centre. It is constructed of painted brick and has a slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan and features three chimney stacks that are arranged irregularly. There are various extensions to the north and a 20th-century link unit to the northwest that connects it to a 19th-century brick building, which may have been a former coach house.
The house is two storeys tall. On the southwest elevation, the ground floor has three French windows with external louvred shutters, and there is a string course above. The first floor has three 19th-century casement windows, also with external louvred shutters. The roof is hipped with a shallow pitch and has a long overhang at the eaves. The overall appearance is asymmetrical, and the tall chimney stacks feature vertical slots between the shafts, linked by common cornices.
