Description
This row of cottages, known as Thatched Cottages, dates from the late 17th century and has been combined into a single structure. The cottages are timber framed with a weatherboarded lower section and plastered upper section, topped with a thatched roof. There are red brick chimney stacks located at the junctions between the cottages. The buildings are single storey with attics and feature plain boarded doors, six 20th-century casement windows, and four eyebrow dormers with 20th-century casement windows. The roof is hipped at both ends, and there are 20th-century extensions at the rear. Inside, the timber framing is exposed, showcasing primary straight bracing and stop-chamfered beams.
