Description

Hancocks is a house dating from the early 16th century or earlier, originally designed as an open hall house with a crosswing. It features a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a red plain tile roof that is half hipped to the north. The building has two storeys and an additional storey in the attic. The crosswing is jettied and gabled. There are four windows, which are modern casements from the 20th century, along with two gabled dormers. A lean-to porch with a red plain tile roof is present at the entrance. The house also has 16th-century and later red brick chimney stacks.
