Description
Theydon Hall is a small mansion built in the late 18th century, constructed from creamy gault bricks and featuring a hipped slate roof behind parapets. The front façade consists of five bays with double hung sash windows that have small square panes and flat rubbed brick arches. At the west end, there is a two-storey canted bay made of brick, also with double hung sash windows. The door is off-centre and topped by a semi-circular arch, adorned with a cast iron fanlight in a radiating pattern and flanked by paired panelled narrow pilasters. The original door is six-panelled and there is a flight of steps leading up to it. On the ridge line, there are three small chimney stacks, and at the east end, there is a lower two-storey block made of purple brick, featuring a single double hung sash window above a tripartite double hung sash window. Inside, the decoration includes a fireplace in the Adamesque style.
