Description
Hydes Farmhouse is a house dating from the 16th century or earlier. It has a timber frame with 20th-century pargetted plaster cladding and a red plain tiled roof. The building features gables on the left, right, and centrally, along with a two-storey stair tower that also has a gable. The farmhouse stands two storeys high with attics. It has small Gothic windows in a 1:1 arrangement on the gables. The first floor has a window range of 1:1:1, while the ground floor has a 2:1 range. There is a recessed porch leading to the stair tower, which includes panelled reveals and a panelled door with two lights. The windows are a mix of 17th-century and 20th-century leaded casements. A large, central red brick chimney stack is prominent, and the return wall displays the exposed timber frame.
