Description
Rockhills is a house dating from the mid-17th century, constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, featuring an early 19th-century red brick front. The building has two storeys and a square plan, with an original 'L' shaped block and later painted brick infilling the north-east corner. The roofs are covered with clay peg tiles, which have hips at the angles and a valley visible on the east facade. The front is made of Flemish bond red brick with irregular blue headers on the first floor, which has three double-hung sash windows with small panes and painted timber lintels. On the ground floor, there is an off-centre 20th-century red brick porch with a hipped peg tile roof, along with two similar double-hung sash windows featuring segmental arched heads. A central rectangular ridge line stack is positioned over an inglenook. Inside, there is substantial framing with a 'crosswing' structure for the west wing. Additionally, there is a two-storey former granary, which has a hipped peg tile roof and black boarding, linked to the east facade and now serves as a parade.
