Description
The Hare and Hounds Public House is a 17th-century building that features a timber-framed structure faced in painted brick, topped with a half-hipped roof made of red plain tiles. It has one storey and attics, with a five-window range of modern casements and three flat-topped dormers, each with casements. A large original central chimney stack is a prominent feature. To the south, there are two late 19th-century wings that extend from the main building, constructed in rendered brickwork with grey slate hipped roofs and double-hung vertical sliding sash windows that include glazing bars. At the west end, there is a small 20th-century timber lattice porch, and a lean-to is located at the rear. Inside, the original frame of the building remains largely intact.
