Description

Ivy House is an 18th-century building located on the north side of Dedham High Street. It is constructed of red brick and features two storeys with a five-window range and a parapet. The windows are hornless small-paned sashes set in plain reveals beneath straight arches. There is a brick band that runs between the storeys. The central entrance has a Doric doorcase with a pediment and panelled reveals, accessed by five stone steps. The building has cellars beneath and roofs covered with peg tiles. A timber-framed wing at the north-west corner bears an inscribed date panel reading 'WC 1767' and displays some decorated plastering on the exterior. The front is adorned with wrought iron railings that include decorative urns.
