Description
No 89 on East Hill is an 18th-century building that stands two storeys high with attics and cellars. The exterior is made of painted brick, featuring a parapet and brick bands. It has a four-window range of double-hung sashes with marginal glazing set in flush cased frames. The main entrance includes a panelled door with panelled reveals, fluted pilasters, a dentil cornice, and a flat hood. There is also another panelled door with plain pilasters. The roofs are tiled. Notably, the Roman Town Wall forms part of the property boundary for No 89, and there may be hidden remains of the wall incorporated in the foundations. Nos 86 to 89 together form a group.
