Description
54 New Street is a late 18th century house constructed from gault brick in a Flemish bond pattern, featuring a parapet. The building has a projecting eaves string and coping. It stands two storeys tall with a four-window range. The first floor has sash windows with three and six panes per window, each topped with gauged brick flat arches. The front door, located at the north end, consists of six fielded panels and is set within a wooden case that has panelled reveals, topped with a flat hood supported by brackets. The ground floor has three windows that match those on the first floor. The roof is ridged and runs from north to south, covered with peg tiles, and features two flat-roofed attic dormers. The rectangular plan includes a hall lined with 18th-century panelling.
