Description
Writtle Wick is a 17th-century building that was once a farmhouse. It features a 17th-century fire surround made of carved oak, adorned with caryatides, egg and tongue detailing, and "Romayne" panelling, all of which have been restored. The layout of the house is now complex but includes a heavy timber-framed structure that is 5 bays long, dating from the 16th or 17th century. Inside, there is a wealth of high-quality Neo-Jacobean detailing.
