Description
Coval Hall is an 18th century building that incorporates an earlier structure. The external walls are made of white painted brick, and the building is two storeys high. The eastern elevation features a range of seven windows, which have double-hung sashes with thin bars beneath cambered heads. The southern elevation includes three parallel wings, each with hipped roofs covered in peg tiles. These wings vary in length, creating an irregular plan. A central timber portico is glazed and supported by four circular columns. There is a 17th century chimney stack located in the east wing. Inside, the entrance has stone flags, and the staircase features turned balusters and bracketed tread-ends. The interior also includes substantial softwood panelling and heavy moulded ceiling cornices dating from around 1700.
