Description
Slough Farmhouse is a 17th-century house that has been altered in the 20th century. It is timber framed, roughcast rendered, and has a roof made of red clay corrugated tiles. The house is arranged in three bays, aligned approximately northwest to southeast, with a northeast aspect and a central chimney stack that serves as a lobby entrance. There is a rear wing consisting of two bays, creating a T-plan, with a chimney stack located in the northeast bay. A single-storey extension in the southwest angle has a corrugated iron roof and dates from the 20th century. The building is single-storey with attics and features a 20th-century door, a tiled gabled porch, and two 20th-century casement windows. Some of the timber framing is exposed internally, showcasing jowled posts and heavy studding with arched bracing between the studs. In the northeast bay of the rear wing, there is a transverse beam that is plain-chamfered with step stops. The roof has clasped purlins with exposed rafters.
