Description
The stable block, located approximately 40 metres north-west of Bluegate Hall Farmhouse, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and flint, with a slate roof. The building is aligned northeast-southwest and faces southeast, featuring rounded ends. It has two storeys. On the ground floor, there are three casement windows with semi-circular arches made of gauged brick, along with two plain boarded doors that have segmental arches. The first floor contains three slatted windows and a pitching door, all featuring semi-circular arches. The low-pitched slate roof is half-conoid at the ends. The brickwork displays Flemish bond on the straight sections and header bond on the curves. Most of the flintwork is made of uncoursed rubble, with a band of knapped flint approximately one metre above ground level.
