Description
Bevingdon House is a Grade II* listed house with origins dating back to the 16th century or earlier, featuring a facade from around 1772. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a hipped red plain tiled roof that includes three pedimented dormers. It stands two storeys high with attics and has two symmetrically placed two-storey bays on either side. The facade is adorned with a parapet, a wood modillion cornice, and rusticated quoins. The windows are arranged in a 1:3:1 pattern, consisting of small paned vertically sliding sashes.
The central pedimented porch is supported by Tuscan columns with moulded bases and capitals, and it features a moulded frieze and soffit. The entrance includes a plank and muntin door. Above the door, there is a fine octagonal shaft chimney stack, which matches another chimney stack to the left, while a single external octagonal shaft chimney is located at the right rear. Inside, the house boasts a fine staircase, panelling, and exposed chamfered joists and framing.
