Description

The east boundary wall of the churchyard of St. Mary's Church dates from the 16th century, with a short section from the 18th century. It is constructed of red brick using English and irregular bonds. The wall stands approximately one metre high on the outside and is lower on the inside. It features a chamfered plinth on each side and has two roll mouldings, which are significantly weathered on the east side. The top of the wall is finished with V-shaped moulded coping bricks. At the northwest end, there is about one metre of construction using clay lump bricks. At the southeast end, approximately one metre has been repaired with 20th-century machine-made bricks.
