Description
This dairy, dating from the 18th century, is located approximately 5 metres south-east of Fairstead Hall. It is constructed of red brick in an irregular bond and has a roof made of handmade red clay tiles. The building has an octagonal plan and features a pyramidal roof. There is an original plain boarded door on the west side and an original slatted window on the east side, along with a 20th-century casement window in the original aperture on the north-west side. Inside, there is a red brick floor and a slate bench on seven sides with a raised wooden rim, supported by brick piers. The roof was rebuilt in softwood in the 20th century. This dairy is included for its group value with Fairstead Hall.
