Description
Homecot is a cottage dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof. The building consists of two bays aligned east to west, featuring a stack at each gable end. A 19th-century extension is located along the north side, which has a catslide roof, and there is a smaller lean-to extension beyond that. At the east end, a 20th-century single-storey extension has been added, roofed with red clay corrugated tiles. The cottage is one storey high with attics.
On the south garden elevation, there are three 20th-century casement windows and a 20th-century door. The main entrance is located in the northeast angle, featuring a 20th-century door within a porch that has a corrugated asbestos roof. The east stack retains a bread oven iron with a door located in the middle of the rear wall of the hearth, which is an unusual position; the mantel beam has been renewed. A 20th-century grate is present in the west stack, and some of the framing is exposed internally.
