Description

Old Hall Farmhouse is an 18th-century house that has been altered in the 20th century but retains remnants of a 17th-century structure. It is timber framed and plastered, with a roof made of handmade red clay tiles. The building consists of two parallel ranges aligned northeast-southwest, featuring a central corridor on each floor and one axial chimney stack in each range. It is two storeys tall with a symmetrical elevation. The central entrance has a glazed door with an open pediment from the 20th century, flanked by two splayed bays, each containing three double-hung sash windows with 12-16-12 lights. One of these windows is from the 18th century, while the other is a 20th-century reproduction. On the first floor, there are two 18th-century double-hung sash windows with 12 lights. The roof is hipped.

The northeast (rear) elevation features two 18th-century windows, each with one wrought iron casement and two fixed lights, along with 20th-century leading. Inside, the house has plain-chamfered axial beams with simple concave stops in each range, which are partly boxed in. The large chimney stack in the northwest range dates back to the early 17th century and has a replaced mantel beam. Some timbers in the roof have been reused from an earlier house. The staircase features bobbin-turned balusters from the 17th century. The farmhouse is situated on a moated site.
