Description

This barn, located approximately 40 metres south west of Rayne Hall and next to the entrance track to the hall, dates back to the 16th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and is weatherboarded, topped with a red plain tiled roof that is hipped and features gablets. There is a hipped midstrey, and on either side of it are lean-tos from the 19th or 20th century, which are not of listing value. The barn consists of seven bays and includes arched braces to the tie beams. The roof is supported by queen struts with arched side bracing, and it features jowled storey posts.
