Description

The Old School House, originally a maltings and now serving as a Community Hall, is likely from the 18th century. The building was purchased by the Church for use as a school in 1844. It features a timber frame with weatherboarding and has a red plain tiled roof adorned with ornate ridge tiles. A red brick chimney stack is located on the left side. The structure is two storeys high and has a three-window range with small paned vertical and horizontal sliding sashes. There are three vertically boarded doors, two of which are on the right and accessed by four steps with curved iron handrails. Pentice boards are present beside the right and left doors. Internally, heavy chamfered bridging joists are visible.
