Description
Wardens House is a house that dates from the 16th century or earlier, with later additions and alterations. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red plain tiled roof. The building features two crosswings and rear ranges, along with elaborate pierced barge boards on the gables and eaves. An off-centre red brick chimney stack has been rebuilt with four octagonal shafts. The house has two storeys, with a window arrangement of 1:2:1 on the first floor and 1:1:2 on the ground floor, which includes a two-storey red tiled bay to the left. Most of the windows are 19th or 20th century vertical sliding sashes, while the bay has casements. To the right of the bay, there is a gabled porch with barge boards, featuring double doors that are panelled with three lights.
